I am not sure which class are you and which papers are up these days but there're two things your ghazals remind me.
First, only in Arts papers except Pak. Studies, I, like some of my friends, would not give a shit to papers of Urdu, English, Islamiat etc. and would play whole day long and like that. I would get a new fiction book full of tragedy or humor or you can say extremely exaggerating on emotions part which would open up my blocked mind's creativity and papers'd go smoothly. Just for record, my matric nos. for english and urdu were 139/150 and 120/150 resp.
Second thing was during the nights in those days, If I am not reading anything, I'd sit outside my dorm (I was in a mil. hostel) with friends and start singing-along these overly hopelessly romantic ghazals or songs. Aitebaar of Vital Signs and likes were a big hit with us, guys and I thoroughly enjoyed listening or singing "Guloon Main Rang Bharey" or "Duniya Kissi K Piyaar Main" and of course "Dasht-e-Tanhai" and likes.
Well, now you've one person testifying it's alright to write or sing or hear ghazals during papers but only during Arts Papers not chemistry or maths or such... werna you'd end up writing a very weird story at the back of your maths paper. well, may be not but I did :P
